About Organisation:

Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) is the legal entity, established by the Ugandan Parliament that is responsible for the operations of the capital city of Kampala in Uganda. It replaced the Kampala City Council.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Head Teacher in the overall administration and management of the school
  • Prepare schemes of work and lesson plans on a monthly and weekly basis
  • Supervises the non-teaching and support staff
  • Ensure effective and efficient maintenance of records, material resources, facilities and information services for efficient accountability
  • Enforce discipline in the school
  • Organize and assist in the management and implementation of the curriculum.
  • Oversee and co-ordinate periodic reviews of the school curriculum.
  • Act as the Minute Secretary of the Management Committee/ Board of Governors.
  • Ensure integrity of internal and external exams administration and supervision.
  • Prepare the academic plans, programmes and schedules (Timetable) of the school.- Performs any other duty assigned by the relevant authority.

 

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum of a Diploma in Education (Primary) from a recognized Training Institution
  • Registered as a Grade V Teacher by the Ministry of Education and Sports.
  • Minimum of Nine (09) years teaching experience as a qualified Primary school teacher, three (3) of which should have been as Senior Education Assistant.

  • Guidance and Counselling and Pedagogical skills, Psychological skills, Child Development, Management, Teaching Skills, Communication/presentation and Interpersonal Skills, Computer Literacy, Curriculum Development, Comprehension and Interpretation, Report keeping, Financial Management Human Resource Management, Environment and Primary Healthcare, Public Relations, Safety and Precautionary measures and support for Special Needs students.
