M-KOPA is hiring a Stock Controller to join our Retail Group, as we scale up and drive digital and financial inclusion across our markets.
Description
The Stock Controller is responsible for ensuring accurate inventory management, supporting smooth shop and depot operations, and delivering excellent service to Direct Sales Representatives (DSRs) and customers. The role ensures stock integrity, operational efficiency, and adherence to M-KOPA stock management standards.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Accounting & Auditing
Inventory Management
- Conduct daily stock counts by scanning all available IMEIs and sharing results with the audit team for reconciliation.
- Allocate stock to DSRs on a daily basis and follow up to retrieve devices that remain in the field beyond expected timelines.
- Ensure all inventory is securely stored in designated lockers or storage areas.
- Receive incoming stock from the main warehouse within set timelines and verify accuracy.
- Facilitate timely return of stock to the warehouse when required.
- Maintain strict adherence to all stock management policies and procedures.
Customer Service
- Support customers through the device upgrade process during shop visits.
- Respond to and resolve customer inquiries professionally, ensuring all issues are logged in the system.
- Escalate unresolved issues to the appropriate teams promptly.
- Follow all established customer service and communication protocols.
- Ensure punctuality and be available at the shop/depot before 8:00 AM on all working days.
Outlet / Shop Management
- Maintain a clean, organized, and clutter-free shop environment at all times.
- Ensure all storage areas and lockers are properly labeled according to standards.
- Maintain clear, visible, and clean shop/depot signage in line with brand guidelines.
Other Duties
- Perform any other tasks assigned by the line manager.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
Education
- Bachelor’s degree or certificate from a recognized institution in any field.
Experience
- Entry-level position (no prior experience required).
- Strong multitasking ability
- Good collaboration and teamwork skills
- Basic computer literacy
- Attention to detail and accuracy in stock handling
- Strong customer service orientation
