Kai Bar and Restaurant is an upcoming, high-end bar and restaurant located in Ntinda, Minister's Village.

On behalf of Kai Bar & Restaurant, we are seeking a professional, welcoming, and customer-focused Hostess to join its team. This role is responsible for creating an exceptional first and last impression for guests by managing reservations, coordinating seating arrangements, and ensuring a seamless and memorable guest experience from arrival to departure.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a warm personality, strong organisational abilities, and the confidence to thrive in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Welcome guests warmly and provide a professional, friendly, and memorable first impression.
  • Manage reservations and maintain accurate records of bookings, guest preferences, and special requests.
  • Coordinate table allocations and seating arrangements to maximise guest satisfaction and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure reserved tables are properly prepared and clearly designated before guest arrival.
  • Escort guests to their tables and ensure they are comfortably seated.
  • Provide menus promptly and facilitate a smooth handover to the service team.
  • Communicate reservation details, special occasions, VIP arrivals, and guest requests to relevant team members.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of menu offerings, daily specials, promotions, and venue services.
  • Monitor guest flow, table availability, and waiting lists to ensure efficient service.
  • Respond professionally to guest inquiries regarding reservations, services, events, and facilities.
  • Engage with guests throughout their visit to ensure satisfaction and address concerns promptly.
  • Gather guest feedback and communicate compliments, concerns, or service issues to management.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and professional hostess station at all times.
  • Support the service team in delivering exceptional customer experiences and maintaining high hospitality standards.
  • Adhere to company policies, service standards, health and safety requirements, and grooming expectations.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in hospitality, customer service, reception, front desk, or a similar guest-facing role is preferred.
  • Certificate, Diploma, or relevant qualification in Hospitality Management, Customer Service, or a related field is an added advantage.
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong customer service orientation with a professional and welcoming demeanour.
  • Ability to multitask, remain organised, and perform effectively under pressure.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • Professional appearance, positive attitude, and high standards of personal presentation.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences.
  • Familiarity with reservation systems and hospitality operations is an added advantage.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
