JOB DETAILS:
Hariss International Limited is seeking a Sales Executive to join their team in Kampala, Uganda. This role is within the Sales & Marketing division and reports to the Area Sales Supervisor.
Responsibilities or duties
The essential duties and responsibilities include:
- Ensuring that agent's stores are opened early and going to the field early.
- Covering all sales points (shops, stockists, restaurants, supermarkets, hotels, hospitals, bars, and kiosks).
- Monitoring company products in each sales point and checking for expiries.
- Arranging product displays in the assigned area.
- Moving with the agent's sales team on all routes, monitoring their activities, and reporting any issues to the supervisor or manager.
- Following up on orders when stock levels reduce in the store.
- Monitoring company fridges for displays, product availability, and ensuring no competitor products are displayed.
- Loading all brands (soda, water, energy drink, juice, and biscuits) in reasonable quantities when going to the field and pushing all company brands. Penalties will be charged for failure to push certain brands.
- Maintaining the market created by promotions and supervision teams, especially for water.
- Ensuring bonuses are given to customers during promotions; failure to do so will be regarded as dishonesty and theft.
- Always carrying posters for route sales, placing them in visible areas, and replacing removed ones.
- Not disclosing any information to competitors regarding products, prices, business processes, or sales.
- Achieving the expected minimum sales target of at least 85% of the total target. Failure to achieve this target for three consecutive months may lead to termination.
- Reporting to management any agents mixing other products on the distribution truck or in the store.
- Advising depot managers to arrange products properly to avoid damages and expiries.
- Always using the company line to communicate with agents and customers.
- Being faithful to the employer and not receiving bribes from agents or customers.
- Portraying the best company image by dressing appropriately and maintaining neatness.
- Approaching customers, explaining products, and using the profit strategy to sell slow-moving products.
- Enforcing territorial respect between agents and controlling dumping.
- Not taking alcohol during working hours.
- Handling company property (phones, laptops) with care; costs for damages or repairs due to negligence will be charged.
- Sending daily reports to the data office and weekly reports to the supervisor.
- Monitoring radio and television adverts and informing management about old adverts or those with incorrect pricing.
- Knowing all customers by name, and ensuring they know you.
- Avoiding misuse of money entrusted by agents, as this could lead to arrest.
- Ensuring no overcharging of customers; this may lead to termination and forfeiture of terminal benefits.
- Performing any other duties assigned by Management.
Qualifications or requirements
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- A minimum of a diploma in Business Administration (Marketing science major) or any relevant discipline.
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role in a busy environment.
Experience needed
Key Requirements:
- At least 2-3 years hands-on in the market.
- Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
- Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
