On behalf of our client SPIRO, we are looking for a competent, skilled and experienced Internal Auditor to work in Kampala.

Job purpose:

We are seeking an experienced Internal Auditor to strengthen internal controls, compliance, and operational monitoring across departments and project sites. The candidate should have strong experience in site visits, physical verification, document validation, and analytical review of operational and financial reports.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conduct internal audits across departments, warehouses, and project sites.
• Perform site visits and physical verification of materials, assets, inventory, and

operational activities.

• Review and verify supporting documents including invoices, delivery notes, GRNs, payment records, and approvals.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Analyze financial and operational reports to identify discrepancies or risks.
• Prepare audit observations, findings, and recommendations for management.
• Support management in strengthening systems, controls, and reporting structures.

Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS.

• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in Internal Audit or related functions.
• Strong experience in site visits and physical verification activities.
• Good understanding of accounting processes, procurement controls, and documentation review.
• Knowledge of ERP/SAP systems will be an added advantage.
• Strong analytical and investigation capabilities.

ADDITIONAL PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

• Candidates who have worked in companies operating across multiple countries will be preferred.
• Experience in handling inter company transactions and reconciliations is an added advantage.
• Understanding of multinational business operations, cross-border transactions, and group reporting processes will be beneficial.
• Exposure to working in fast-paced and multi-location environments is preferred.
