JOB DETAILS:

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:
• Understanding blueprints, building specifications, and tracking layout for pipes, drainage systems, and other plumbing systems.
• Reading technical diagrams and drawings either hydraulic or mechanical (P&ID, Blok diagrams, Layouts) and operating and maintenance manuals of systems or devices.
• Following procedures, drawings, documentation, tools and testing devices for installation, maintenance and reparations of the following machinery and systems which guarantee hospital services:
- Plumbing systems: firefighting, wastewaters, water distribution, water disinfection, water filters, pumps, valves, equipment, bathroom fittings and fixtures;
- Thermo-hydraulic system: boiler, thermal solar panels, chiller, heat pump, water heaters
- Air-conditioning systems: UHA, air ducts, mixing valves, fans, air filters, split system;
- Medical gas: air compressor, vacuum pump, oxygen concentrator, oil filters, dryer;
• Creating, installing, repairing and maintaining plumbing and gas pipeline and supporting for water, gas, air or other liquids...
• Properly assessing the status of the materials in stock and maps the equipment and material needed for each task;
• Checking the operating parameters, performing inspections of any hydraulic or mechanical system or equipment, performing tests for any operational problem, and writing report documenting the checks, any problem encountered, and summary of actions taken or suggested.
• Performing basic welding operations on iron, steel and other materials.
• Collaborating with the Supervisor, the other technicians and any other relevant department on field for an
efficient maintenance activities at the Hospital, without interrupting the ordinary activities;
• Utilizing the equipment needed for above-mentioned operations, and ensuring the proper functioning,
maintenance and cleaning of the tools, workshop and maintained areas;
• Following health and safety standards, and wearing appropriate safety equipment;
• Understanding the high risk tasks and following directions given by the Supervisor to make sure the procedures
for such tasks are clear at all times;
• Performing any other duties as required.

• Willingness to perform heavy work, including moving and lifting loads;
• Availability to work in shifts (including nights, weekends and public holidays when requested)
• Ability to work in a team;
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role.
• WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Contract of employment: Fixed-term (6 months) with possibility of renewal.

REQUIREMENTS

• Diploma or bachelors in Water Engineering or related field

• Salary: According to EMERGENCY salary scale.
• Social benefits: GPA, National Social Insurance, Health Insurance.
• Leaves: 21 paid leave days and additional leave types.
• Duty station: Entebbe.
• Starting date: as soon as possible
