Reporting to (N+1) Technical Services Manager
Job Summary: To lead our electrical team, overseeing installation, maintenance, and repairs of electrical systems and equipment, including refrigeration systems, aeration blowers and compressors, high-voltage electric panels, and general facilities electrical systems.
Roles and Responsibilities
• Lead and supervise a team of electrical and instrumentation technicians.
• Design, install, and maintain electrical systems and equipment.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical issues.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, industry standards, and electrical codes.
• Collaborate with the operations team to minimize downtime.
• Develop and manage maintenance schedules, procedures, and budgets.
• Identify opportunities for electrical system upgrades and improvements.
Key Authorities
• Technical leadership: Authority to lead and direct a team of Electrical technicians and 3rd party (contractor) technical staff.
• Maintenance planning: Authority to collaborate with the maintenance planner to schedule electrical maintenance, repairs, and upgrades of equipment and systems.
• Design and specification: Authority to design and specify electrical systems, equipment, and components.
• Procurement: Authority to offer technical guidance for the planning and procurement team to purchase electrical materials, equipment, and services within budgetary limits.
• Troubleshooting: Authority to troubleshoot and diagnose Electrical issues, and implement corrective actions.
Limitations
• Budgetary constraints: Limited authority to exceed budgetary allocations for projects or procurements.
• Technical approvals: May require approval from the Technical Services Manager or other senior authorities for certain technical decisions or projects.
• Safety protocols: Must adhere to established safety protocols and procedures.
• Regulatory compliance: Must ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
• Operational boundaries: Limited authority to make operational decisions outside of maintenance, repairs, and upgrades.
Accountabilities
• Maintenance and repair: Ensuring the effective maintenance and repair of equipment and systems,
• Team leadership: Leading and managing a team of mechanical technicians and engineers to achieve maintenance and repair objectives.
• Design and specification: Designing and specifying mechanical systems, equipment, and components to meet operational requirements.
• Troubleshooting and resolving complex Electrical issues, and implementing corrective actions.
• Project management: Managing projects related to electrical maintenance, repairs, and upgrades of equipment and systems.
• Budgeting and cost control: Managing budgets and controlling costs associated with maintenance, repairs, and upgrades.
• Safety and Compliance: Ensuring adherence to safety protocols, regulations, and industry standards.
• Continuous improvement: Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and implementing changes to optimize maintenance, repairs, and upgrades.
• Communication and reporting: Providing regular reports and updates to the Technical Services Manager and other stakeholders.
• Training and development: Ensuring that team members receive necessary training and development opportunities.
Key performance indicators (KPI’s)
Maintenance and Repair KPIs
• Mean Time To Repair (MTTR): Average time taken to repair equipment after a failure, only for Electrical-related failures.
MTTR = Total Repair Time / Number of Repairs
• Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF): Average time between Electrical equipment failures.
MTBF = Total Operating Time / Number of Failures
Project Management KPIs
• Project Completion Rate on Electrical tasks: Percentage of mechanical project tasks completed on time and within budget.
Completion Rate (%) = (Number of Projects Completed On Time and Within Budget / Total Number of Projects) × 100
• Project Cost Variance: Difference between actual and budgeted project costs.
Project Cost Variance = Actual Project Cost - Budgeted Project Cost
Team Leadership KPIs
• Team Productivity: A Measure of team output and efficiency.
Team Productivity = (Total Output / Total Input) × 100 (e.g., number of tasks completed per hour)
Safety and Compliance KPIs
• Safety Incident Rate: Number of safety incidents per unit of time.
• Compliance Audit Score: Score on audits of compliance with safety protocols and regulations.
Minimum Qualification
Education:
• Diploma/Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
Skills:
• Communication: Effective communication with maintenance teams, operations, and other stakeholders
• Ability to use MS Excel and SAP ERP or any other CMMS programs
• Maintenance knowledge: Understanding of maintenance principles, practices, and procedures.
• Prioritization: Ability to prioritize maintenance tasks based on urgency and importance
• Technical documentation: Ability to read and interpret technical documents, such as maintenance manuals and electrical drawings
Experience:
• Minimum 2-5 years: Typically, an Electrical Engineer should have at least 2-5 years of relevant experience
• Equipment-specific experience: Experience with aquaculture equipment to be maintained is an added advantage

• Time management: Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks.
• Problem-solving: Ability to analyze problems and develop effective solutions.
• Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with maintenance teams and other departments
