JOB DETAILS:

Duties and Responsibilities:

• • Ensure compliance with OHS standards and Ugandan laws.
  • Conduct safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
  • Monitor machinery, equipment, and vehicle safety.
  • Facilitate safety training for employees and contractors.
  • Investigate incidents and recommend corrective actions.
  • Manage hazard signage and safety notices.
  • Align safety measures with certifications (MPS, ISO).
  • Develop and update safety policies and emergency procedures.
  • Oversee waste disposal and environmental compliance.
  • Prepare safety reports and liaise with authorities.
  • Promote a safety culture through awareness campaigns.

Requirements:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or related field.
• Certifications: Diploma in Health & Safety, NEBOSH, IOSH (advantage).
• Experience: 3+ years in health and safety, preferably in agriculture/horticulture.
• Knowledge: Ugandan OHS laws (e.g., Occupational Safety and Health Act 2006), hazard control, agrochemical safety.
• Skills:
  • Policy development and risk assessment.
  • Incident reporting and data analysis.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong communication and training delivery.
• Preferred: Familiarity with MPS-EQAS, ISO 45001, or compliance audits.
