JOB DETAILS:

Purpose of the post The overall purpose of this post is to provide day to day midwifery nursing care service to patients and oversee stores management function. Key duties and responsibilities This person will work under the overall supervision of the Facility In-charge to:

 Receive patients, register admissions, discharges and deaths.

 Provide care during labour with emphasis on keeping proper records, use of drugs and prevention of complications to mother and baby

 Provide care during puerperium with emphasis on prevention of infection

 Sensitize mothers about benefits of breast feeding and recommended diet

 Participate in bedside nursing procedures as a member of the caring team

 Carry out Ante-natal care.

 Maintain a clean and healthy environment for the patients

 Participate in Doctors/Clinical officers ward rounds

 Observe and compile daily ward reports for the attention of the relevant authorities.

 Manage the stores function at the medical Centre. Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

 A certificate in midwifery.

 Should possess a certificate of registration as an enrolled Midwife from the Uganda Nurses and Midwifery’ council.

2  At least three years’ experience working at a health facility

 Interpersonal, communication, analytical and people management skills
