JOB DETAILS:

Key Responsibilities

• • Prepare and supervise land preparation and road construction activities under the Outgrowers scheme.
  • Ensure high-quality land preparation and proper construction of main feeder roads, tract networks, and bridges.
  • Maintain roads with adequate drainage, appropriate cambering, and good-quality marram.
  • Monitor attendance and punctuality of subordinate staff and take disciplinary action as needed.
  • Ensure machinery and equipment are correctly set and aligned for optimal efficiency and productivity.
  • Identify and establish high-quality marram quarries and oversee proper excavation.
  • Schedule preventive maintenance for road construction and earth-moving machinery at the main workshop.
  • Liaise with the Satellite workshop for rescuing section machinery and equipment during breakdowns.
  • Monitor fuel usage and consumption to prevent abuse.
  • Maintain daily records of section activities.
  • Conduct on-the-job training to enhance staff skills.
  • Prepare and submit routine reports to the Dty Outgrowers Manager for updates.

C. Knowledge, Qualifications & Experience

C1.1 Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Agricultural Engineering from a recognized Agricultural Institute.

C1.2 Experience, Skills, and Competences:

• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in managing and maintaining agricultural machinery and equipment.
• Supervisory skills are an added advantage.
