Job Summary
The Training and Development Officer will be responsible for implementing company training and competence policies, identifying training needs, formulating and coordinating training programs, managing training records, and supporting employee development initiatives. The role includes organizing induction programs, ensuring compliance with industry standards, processing training logistics, and maintaining the company’s training matrix and certification records.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the implementation of the L3.2-HR-POZG-Copperware Assistance Management and L3.2-HR-P006-UG_Training Management policies of the Company.
- Interface with field & office-based personnel to identify training needs and implement competencies.
- Formulate training programs and schedules based on knowledge of identified training needs.
- Develop and support the Company training matrix program as per Client Requirements and industry standards/regulations.
- Identify and develop appropriate instructional curriculum for external Company training programs.
- Conduct due diligence while adding technical providers or consultants to the Approved Vendors List in line with the L3.2-HR-P006-UG_Training Management policy.
- Collate data/ information/ statistics for regular training reports.
- Assist in the development and mentoring of high-potential candidates identified within the company as instructed in conjunction with the department manager/head.
- Process training administration requests like booking courses, arranging logistics, generating in-house certificates, updating personnel folders with certificate details, and checking accuracy of claims received for field personnel.
- Compile data and analyze past and current year training requirements to prepare budgets.
- Maintain training records for all employees. Coordinate with project teams to organize and manage data from the field.
- Prepare and update system documents within the scope of work responsibilities.
- Organize training effectiveness evaluations for employees and carry out targeted ability improvement initiatives.
- Update and monitor the certificate matrix of COSLU.
- Manage Uganda Company’s employees going abroad on business, including pre-departure education, passport management, visa processing, foreign work permit processing, and related tasks.
- Oversee the proper implementation of the L3.2-HR-POZG-UG Employee Induction and Orientation procedure.
- Ensure subordinates receive necessary training and possess the qualifications and experience to perform tasks safely and efficiently.
- Perform duties and obligations related to the company’s integrated management system.
Relevant Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or any related field.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Background in Training or HSE is an added advantage.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Creative and solution-oriented.
- Proficient computer skills.
- Physically and mentally fit for the position.
