Job Title: Senior Human Resource and Administrative Officer
Organisation: Uganda Technology and Management University (UTAMU)
Duty Station: Kungu, Wakiso, Uganda
About Organisation:
Ugandan Technology and Management University (UTAMU) is a private university that was established by the National Council for Higher Education in March 2013, in accordance with the laws of Uganda. UTAMU is accredited to run academic programmes at all levels of the Higher education system.
Job Summary: The University Secretary of Uganda Technology and Management University (UTAMU) invites applications from suitably, qualified applicants for the position of Senior Human Resource and Administrative Officer.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement Human Resource policies, regulations and practices;
- Prepare Human Resource plans and budgets;
- Prepare submissions for appointment, confirmation, discipline, transfer of staff;
- Manage the Payroll and staffing control system;
- Maintain Personal records for the staff;
- Provide advice on career development, capacity building and counselling;
- Provide Technical advice to departments on Human Resource matters;
- Maintain staff welfare, benefits and other entitlements;
- Coordinate staff performance management system;
- Coordinate entry and exit of staff;
- Provide safe custody and maintenance of assets; and
- Provide Administrative support services to the departments and units.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- A Masters’ Degree with a specialization in Human Resource Management from a recognized institution.
- An Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management or Arts or
- Commerce/BBA with a bias in Human Resource Management or Public Administration (HRM) or Social Work and Social Administration (SWSA) or Social Sciences from a recognized Institution.
- A Certificate in Administrative Officer’s Law Course from Law Development Centre or equivalent is an added advantage
Experience
- A minimum of six (6) years’ experience in human resource, three (3) of which shall be at the level of at least Senior Officer in a reputable organization.
- 35 – 55 years of age at entry.
