JOB DETAILS:
The Joint Clinical Research Center (JCRC) is implementing USAID Local Partner Health Services -Kigezi Region (LPS) a five-year Project (2020-2025) funded by PEPFAR through USAID that aims to increase availability, accessibility and utilization of quality integrated HIV/TB services in Kigezi Sub- region in Southwestern Uganda. This will be by reaching and sustaining the HIV epidemic control through attaining and sustaining the 95:95:95 UNAIDS target in the 6 districts of Kigezi sub region.
Contract Duration: 6 months
Location: Rubanda 1 (Ruhija HC III), Kanungu 3 (Matanda HC III, Kambuga Hospital,
Kanyatorogo HC III), Rukungiri 6 (Bugangari HC IV, Nyakishenyi HC III, Kisiizi HC III, Bikurungu
HC III, Ruhinda HC III)
Number of positions: 10 (Ten)
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
▪ Provide targeted HIV screening & testing services, quality Pre-ART/ adherence and IACS counseling for newly enrolled and established clients in care.
▪ Work closely with health workers and expert clients to provide or mobilize clients for TB , PrEP in MCH, cancer cervix, NCDs literacy, screening & treatment services.
▪ Offer quality and client centered psychosocial support to caregivers of children, adolescents & adult PLHIV in care clients and their families.
▪ Work with community health workers to support client linkages to ART/TB Treatment, retention & completion of treatment and adherence for sustained viral load suppression.
▪ Work with facility health workers to sustain a good appointment and follow up system at the facility and the community to ensure TB patients/HIV client continuity in care
▪ Conduct integrated community outreaches for non-suppressed clients as entry for index clients testing, home based IAC, TPT, TB/HIV treatment refills, client follow up
▪ Conduct Household/social contacts TB conduct tracing and Community TB Screening at mapped hotspots.
▪ Engage and refer/link clients to other health, social and para legal services to ensure continuum of care and maintain accurate up to date daily activity logs and reports.
▪ Optimize use of the audit tool working with data clerk/HIA to plan for community activities, collect quality community data, monitor and report on priority HIV testing, adult & pediatric Care & Treatment, PMTCT/EID and TB services.
▪ Any other duties may be assigned to your supervisor for the wellbeing of the patient/clients.
Person Specifications:
Minimum Academic Qualifications:
• HIV/AIDS Counselling Certificate or diploma in Counselling and Guidance
• Medical training in nursing or midwifery will be an added advantage
• Experience and willingness to work in rural health facilities
• Knowledge and understanding of most current MOH HIV/TB guidelines and donor priorities
• Must have knowledge and understanding of the local language
