Specific Responsibilities
• Perform and facilitate execution of administrative activities and procedures for the effective execution of own role and operations of the workshop in accordance with the company objectives.
• Plan and schedule corrective and preventive maintenance activities by task and priority level, and share weekly maintenance plans with the Fleet and Logistics departments
Manage spare parts and alignment between the maintenance department and the inventory department to ensure minimal downtime of vehicles under repair.
• Manage work orders, documentation, and assets within the computerized maintenance management system.
• Coordinate and call-in vehicles to the workshop for maintenance as per the generated and shared weekly maintenance plan.
• Manage maintenance budgets for all company owned fleet in liaison with the Head mechanic and Workshop Manager/ Head of Maintenance.
• Log artisan utilization and share weekly artisan utilization reports with the supervisor and top management.
• Monitor fleet availability and share periodic fleet availability reports.
• Conduct, record and document failure and/ or root cause analyses for major incidents such as accidents, premature equipment failures and any other maintenance related cases which might warrant investigating and bringing about operational efficiencies.
Education and Experience
• A Bachelor’s degree in Automotive & Power Engineering or Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university.
• Proficiency in Swahili would be an added advantage.
• 3+ years working in a similar position in a busy equipment/ vehicle workshop preferably in a Transport company, FMCG company or manufacturing and production company.
• Computer Literacy (Windows, Ms Office).
