JOB DETAILS:
Cycle Connect is a socially-driven business that delivers agricultural products and tools to farmers living in remote, rural areas in Northern Uganda.
Millions of farmers are financially excluded and yet need access to products on credit. This is where Cycle Connect delivers, as we specialise in offering productive tools on financing plans, reaching the most last mile customers, and offering low barrier loan terms built for farmers, enabling them to increase their income and in turn propel their communities forward.
We have a growing number of assets in our portfolio, including oxen and plough, bicycles, motorcycles, grinding machines, and a rich pipeline for even more. To date, we have worked with over 14,000 farmers across two different branches and backed up by over 40 team members. We are venturing through an exciting time of rapid growth and scale throughout Uganda and are therefore looking to expand our team.
Length of contract
• This is a full-time engagement for 1 full year renewable based on performance.
Responsibilities:
Portfolio Growth
• Recruit loan clients with the support of Marketing staff to achieve loan disbursement and portfolio growth target.
• Assessment of potential loan clients to make sure they meet the required standards for borrowing from Cycle Connect.
• Coordinating logistics of loan disbursements with the Operations Department.
• Ensure all applications, loan agreements and all required documentation are duly signed, completed & filed.
• Work with management to achieve, or exceed, monthly, quarterly and annual organization goals.
Monitoring and managing portfolio
• Monitor loan portfolio by maintaining close relationships, identify any potential default cases and develop mitigants for them.
• Ensure clients comply with the Cycle Connect policies as well as terms and conditions attached to loans.
• Maintain the portfolio at risk within the Cycle Connect’s loan quality standards.
• Comply with Cycle Connect follow-up procedures for defaulting clients.
• Participate in loan recovery and asset repossession following the Cycle Connect policies and procedures.
Customer Service
• Go the “extra mile” to build trusting relationships, customer loyalty and satisfaction.
• Deliver high quality client service by keeping time, providing accurate information, and being respectful of all potential customers.
• Provide training to clients before and after loan disbursal.
• Maintain close relationships with customers throughout the loan process.
Administrative Task/ Other
• Maintain and update loan reports, client records and duty reports.
• Analyze and suggest ways Cycle Connect can improve its credit strategies.
• Other tasks and projects deemed necessary by the supervisor.
