JOB DETAILS:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Ensure day to day safe and efficient running of the mechanical engineering store.
• Check and inspect all tools are available and maintained in the correct place and that all equipment is suitable for working condition.
• Maintain a high degree of product knowledge on all equipment and ensure housekeeping, safety and security procedures are followed in the store.
• Ensure proper documentation of deliveries and approved delivery notes
• Maintain an orderly storage and retrieval system utilizing first in, first out principles.
• Responsible for engineering store organization and cleanliness.
• Maintain accurate inventory records. Research discrepancies and work with necessary parties to correct.
• Ensure that the engineering store rules are followed and the correct re-issue and sign out procedure is followed when applicable.
• Fully trained to operate all required material handling equipment to ensure safe movement of product to the appropriate work centre and/ or building without the part incurring damage.
• Conduct brief visual inspection of the product for any obvious damage (dents, dings, scratches, etc.) before moving from any of the outgoing shelves.
• If damage is present, the engineer store in charge will immediately notify the respective Supervisor of the area.
• If damage occurs during the movement/transportation of the item, the store engineer in charge will immediately notify his/her own supervisor.
• Proficient in lean exercises and make recommendations to improve the organization of the store floor and expand visual control systems.
• Knowledgeable of Paradigm Precision procedures responsible for keeping all racks and material handling equipment in good safe working condition and clean of dust and foreign objects.
• Performs any other task as maybe assigned by the line manager.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
• A minimum of a diploma in mechanical engineering or any other relevant discipline.
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role in a busy environment.
• SAP experience/knowledge upfront is key requirement for the role.
• FMCH(Sidel,Water Systems,Husky,SACMI etc) Supplier network.
