POSITION: Chief Technology and Information Officer
JOB SUMMARY:
The Chief Technology and Information Officer (CTIO) will be a key executive responsible for the end-to-end management of technology and information systems to drive our client's business objectives. This role encompasses overseeing telecom network infrastructure, IT systems, digital innovation, and ensuring regulatory compliance. The CTIO will play a pivotal role in aligning technology strategies with business goals, delivering operational excellence, and driving innovation.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Technology Leadership:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive technology strategy aligned with business objectives.
- Oversee the deployment, maintenance, and optimization of telecom networks to ensure high performance and reliability.
- Champion innovation and adoption of emerging technologies to maintain a competitive edge.
- IT and Information Management:
- Ensure robust IT systems, including infrastructure, software applications, and data management processes.
- Drive initiatives for cybersecurity, data privacy, and compliance with local and international regulations.
- Leverage data analytics and business intelligence to support decision-making and enhance customer experiences.
- Telecom Network Operations:
- Ensure optimal network performance, coverage, and scalability to meet customer demands.
- Collaborate with vendors and stakeholders to implement cost-effective solutions.
- Monitor and enhance key performance indicators (KPIs) such as uptime, latency, and capacity.
- Team Leadership:
- Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing team of technology and IT professionals.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Provide strategic guidance and technical expertise to the executive team.
- Strategic Partnerships:
- Manage relationships with technology vendors, service providers, and industry partners.
- Negotiate contracts and service level agreements (SLAs) to optimize costs and performance.
- Innovation and Growth:
- Drive digital transformation initiatives, including the adoption of AI, IoT, and cloud technologies.
- Identify and implement technology solutions to enhance operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERTISE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 12 years of leadership experience in telecom and IT, with a strong focus on African markets.
- Expertise in telecom network design and operations, IT systems management, and digital transformation.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance in the telecom sector.
- Exceptional leadership, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
