JOB DETAILS:
About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Tech Support Consultant to support our client in implementing and maintaining a mobile application designed for data collection in the cocoa sector. This role requires a self-sufficient, tech-savvy professional who can troubleshoot app-related issues, train local staff on its usage, and ensure seamless integration into Client's operations. The consultant will be based in Kampala, with potential travel to upcountry locations as needed.

Key Responsibilities
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance for the mobile application.
• Assist our client in testing and deploying the application.

• Train local staff on app functionality, data collection procedures, and best practices.

• Ensure efficient adoption of the application by addressing technical concerns and feedback.
• Collaborate with the development team (Europe-based) to report bugs, suggest improvements, and implement updates.

• Maintain proper documentation of training sessions, user feedback, and technical issues.
• Use data analytics tools to support operational efficiency and decision-making.

Required Skills & Qualifications
• Technical Expertise:
• React + TypeScript (Mandatory)
• Proficiency in JavaScript, Postgres, Firebase, NestJS, and Prisma.
• Experience working with spreadsheet tools (Excel, Google Sheets) for data analysis.
• Software & Tools:
• Google Suite, Slack, WhatsApp, and other collaborative tools.
• Other Requirements:
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.

• Self-sufficient with no direct manager on-site.
• Effective communication skills to train and support local users.
• Willingness to travel to upcountry locations for training and support.

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in supporting mobile or web-based applications.
• Background in agriculture or data collection-related technology is a plus.

• Ability to liaise between technical and non-technical teams.
