Job Type: Full-time contract

Key Responsibilities:

  • Library Services: Assist library patrons with locating and using library resources, including books, journals, digital media, and databases.
  • Collection Management: Organize, catalog, and maintain library collections, including performing regular inventory checks and ensuring materials are properly shelved and accessible.
  • Research Assistance: Provide guidance to patrons in conducting research and utilizing various information resources, both physical and electronic.
  • Program Development: Plan and assist with library programs, workshops, and events aimed at promoting reading, literacy, and community engagement.
  • Information Systems Management: Maintain library software systems and ensure all materials are properly registered, checked out, and returned.
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service by assisting patrons with questions, guiding them on using library technology, and resolving issues efficiently.
  • Records Management: Ensure accurate and up-to-date records for borrowed items, patrons, and other library services.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Library Science, Information Science, or a related field
  • Proven experience as a Librarian (2+ years), preferably in a public or academic library setting.
  • Strong knowledge of library management systems
  • Proficiency in information retrieval tools, databases, and digital resources.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with a diverse group of patrons.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience in providing library programs or educational workshops.
  • Familiarity with emerging technologies and digital media in libraries.
