Job Type: Full-time contract
Key Responsibilities:
- Equipment Maintenance: Assist in the proper setup, maintenance, and calibration of laboratory equipment and tools to ensure they are in working order.
- Sample Preparation: Prepare and organize materials and samples for experiments or testing. This includes measuring, labeling, and ensuring the correct storage of samples.
- Cleaning and Organization: Maintain cleanliness and organization in the lab by cleaning equipment, workspaces, and laboratory areas as per safety and hygiene guidelines.
- Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels of lab supplies and chemicals. Order and restock supplies as needed to avoid disruptions in lab work.
- Safety Compliance: Follow and enforce laboratory safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment, including the proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials.
- Data Logging: Assist in recording and organizing data or test results under the supervision of lab personnel, ensuring accurate and clear documentation.
- Lab Support: Provide general support to lab technicians, researchers, or scientists as needed, including assistance during experiments or preparing materials for research projects.
Qualifications:
- At least 2 years of experience working as a Lab Attendant, Laboratory Assistant, or in a similar role.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in laboratory safety or related areas are a plus.
- Basic knowledge of laboratory safety procedures and handling of laboratory chemicals and equipment.
- Familiarity with lab equipment and tools, and the ability to perform routine maintenance.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to keep accurate records and manage inventory.
- Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team.
