The Uganda National Mining Company (UNMC) was established under the Mining and Minerals Act, 2022 (Act No. 25 of 2022) and incorporated under the Companies Act 2012 (Act No. 1 of 2012). It is a limited liability company fully owned by the Government of Uganda.

Mission: To manage the commercial holdings and participating interests of the State in the mining and mineral industry to ensure that the country obtains optimal value from its mineral resources.
UNMC is recruiting an Executive Management Team to help achieve its vision of becoming a sustainable and profitable world-class mining and minerals company, creating value for its shareholders.

Role Summary:
The CEO will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and overall management of UNMC to achieve its goals and objectives. The role involves ensuring sustainable growth and profitability while overseeing compliance with regulatory standards and aligning company operations with the government’s mining policies.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement the strategic vision, goals, and objectives of UNMC.
• Ensure the optimal management of state interests in mining ventures.

• Lead and oversee daily operations, financial performance, and stakeholder relations.

• Promote a culture of accountability, innovation, and operational excellence within the company.
• Represent UNMC in engagements with stakeholders, including government entities, investors, and international partners.

Qualifications and Skills:
• Bachelor’s degree in Mining, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree is preferred).
• Proven experience in senior leadership, preferably in mining, energy, or extractive industries.
• Strong strategic thinking, financial management, and stakeholder engagement skills.
