JOB DETAILS:
FINCA Uganda is looking for a Senior Internal Auditor to join its team and contribute to ensuring the organization’s operations align with internal controls, compliance standards, and organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities
1. Audit Planning and Execution
o Develop and implement risk-based audit plans to ensure compliance and effectiveness of internal controls.
o Conduct audits of financial, operational, and compliance processes.
2. Reporting
o Prepare and present audit reports with findings and recommendations to senior management.
o Follow up on audit recommendations to ensure corrective actions are implemented.
3. Risk Assessment
o Identify and assess risks in financial and operational activities.
o Recommend measures to mitigate identified risks.
4. Internal Controls and Compliance
o Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls across various processes.
o Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
5. Collaboration
o Work closely with other departments to improve processes and ensure operational efficiency.
o Provide guidance to teams on best practices for compliance and internal controls.
Qualifications and Competencies
Educational Background
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CIA) is an added advantage.
Experience
• Proven experience in internal auditing, preferably in the financial services industry.
Skills and Attributes
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
• Knowledge of audit procedures, risk management, and internal controls.
• Proficiency in using audit software and financial systems.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
