Program Overview: SHARE
The Sexual Health and Reproductive Education (SHARE) program, funded by Global Affairs Canada, focuses on improving the reproductive health of adolescents, particularly girls and young women, through a gender-transformative and rights-based approach. SHARE operates in Uganda, Ghana, and Mozambique, working with adolescents, health workers, community members, and government entities to provide access to gender-responsive sexual and reproductive health education and services.
Role Summary
The Project Coordinator (PC) is responsible for implementing project activities, supporting community teams with Right To Play tools, and monitoring the quality and effectiveness of project delivery.
Primary Responsibilities
1. Activity Planning and Implementation (45%):
• Involve partners, children, and stakeholders in planning and implementing activities.
• Support teachers, trainers, and networks to develop activity plans aligned with project proposals.
• Organize and manage events such as play days, sports tournaments, and special activities.
• Facilitate training workshops for teachers, coaches, and stakeholders.
• Handle logistics for training, manage budgets, and ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Monitor infrastructure needs in the community and ensure repairs are done to approved standards.
2. Monitoring and Reporting (30%):
• Conduct regular field visits to support teachers, trainers, and coaches.
• Train partners and stakeholders on data collection tools.
• Submit timely narrative, qualitative, and financial reports to update project progress.
3. Establish and Maintain Partnerships (20%):
• Identify community needs and select partner schools and communities.
• Represent Right To Play in project locations and forums.
• Engage with local partners, stakeholders, and beneficiaries to ensure project success.
4. Other Tasks (5%):
• Perform any additional responsibilities as assigned by the Project Officer.
Qualifications
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field.
Experience:
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in developing and implementing training sessions, with some time in senior roles in NGOs.
Competencies:
• Strong planning, organizing, coaching, and mentoring skills.
• Ability to work with diverse populations, including children, youth, parents, teachers, and government partners.
• Excellent communication and team-building skills.
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Internet.
Languages:
• Fluency in spoken and written English.
• Knowledge of the local language is an added advantage.
Bonus Skills:
• Experience with development programs in rural and urban settings.
• Background in training, workshops, and curriculum development.
• Personal experience in sports or coaching.
• Motorbike riding skills and a valid license.
