Hands for an African child is a fast-growing non- profit organization, registered under the Uganda NGO Bureau. We are recruiting a suitable candidate for a position of a Human Resources Manager in our Head office in Kampala.

Knowledge, skills and competences
• Familiarity with local labor laws and regulations is required.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrated ability working with a wide range of people, including local project staff, international staff, consultants, Government officials, etc.
• Flexibility and ability to adapt easily to change
• Strong written and spoken English is required
• Experience working with other non-profit organizations in the same field will be an added advantage.
• Proficiency in major programs such as Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel
Responsibilities
Job summary:
• The Human Resources (HR) Manager will organize and manage a variety of activities related to office HR and Administration, including recruitment, staffing, compensation, benefits, employee relations, trainings and employment regulatory compliance. The HR Manager will directly report to the Executive Director for Hands for an African Child and will provide HR support to all organization offices/ departments. Maintain close communication relationships with the technical team as well as operational and financial staff, and perform other duties once assigned.
Roles and Responsibilities:
• Ensure compliance with Ugandan Labor law, HFAAC policies and Human rights regulations.
• Provide travel assistance and emergency support for field- based technical and support personnel.
• Prepare pay rolls for all employees and submit to finance on a monthly basis or according to regularity.
• Populate and manage employee systems, including creation of employee files.
• Oversee the recruitment process for all local vacant positions.
• Introduce new employees to policies and procedures of the organization.
• Conduct initial on-boarding orientations for staff.
• Oversee management and control of local labor benefits.
• Manage performance evaluations for local staff, as requested.
• Utilize consistent and replicable processes for the provision of staff renumerations and benefits.
• Maintain confidentiality for sensitive HR issues
• Administer employee exit interviews
• Rights and Responsibilities, staff are aware of their contractual rights and responsibilities in delivering their work for HFAAC in line with code of conduct.
Qualifications
• The applicant MUST hold a Bachelors degree in HR Management, post graduate Studies in HR
