Overall Job Purpose
The Marketing Executive will assist the Regional Marketing Director in managing day-to-day marketing operations, creative agency coordination, partnerships, and implementing marketing and brand management efforts. The role will focus on B2B and B2C marketing, communications, and branding for Kampala Serena Hotel and Lake Victoria Serena, solidifying Serena’s position as a leading hospitality brand in Uganda.
Key Responsibilities
Marketing and Campaign Management
• Develop and execute B2B and B2C marketing campaigns and promotional strategies.
• Support the Regional Marketing Director in preparing and printing B2B/B2C giveaways and press kits for events and press conferences.
• Activate and manage digital and social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook), co-creating content calendars with the Regional Digital Marketing Executive.
Partnerships and Networking
• Network with B2B partners to create new opportunities, tailor products, and support the sales team.
• Manage relationships with B2B clients and chambers of commerce, sharing weekly brand communications.
• Explore partnerships with golf clubs and other industry stakeholders to drive brand growth.
Brand Management
• Ensure strict adherence to Serena brand guidelines in marketing collateral, signage, and key hotel materials (menus, banners, etc.).
• Monitor competition and industry trends to identify growth opportunities.
Operational Support
• Coordinate logistics for B2C campaigns, PR, advertising, influencer management, and digital communications.
• Draft briefs for creative agencies and content creators, obtaining approval from GM and Regional Marketing Director.
• Report campaign KPIs and prepare monthly performance analyses for review.
• Ensure all PR, guest experience, and communication issues are reported within 24 hours to the Regional Office.
Content and Media Management
• Identify and manage local photographers/videographers for shoots (product, architecture, social media content).
• Maintain up-to-date digital profiles (TripAdvisor, Google My Business, etc.) in conjunction with the Regional Support Office.
• Share monthly press clippings (digital, TV, radio) with the Regional Marketing Director.
Event Marketing
• Plan and budget marketing initiatives for events (e.g., Festive season, Valentine’s Day, Easter, Iftar/Idd).
• Oversee branding and membership growth of Prestige Club through cross-selling initiatives.
Qualifications and Professional Requirements
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Journalism, or Communications.
• Experience: 2–3 years in marketing, preferably in an advertising agency or hospitality industry (hospitality marketing experience is an advantage).
• Skills and Competencies:
o Creative and self-driven personality with strong multitasking abilities.
o Excellent written, oral, and presentation communication skills.
o Strong time and project management skills.
o Collaborative approach, able to work effectively across teams.
