JOB DETAILS:
On behalf of our client TOTALENERGIES, we are looking for a competent, skilled, and experienced External Communications Officer to work in Kampala.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
• Work with the communications team to plan and implement external communication strategies for the Company, the integrated project, and the Company brand in Uganda.
• Support the research and writing of communications content for publications, digital and social media engagements in consultation with operational teams within the company.

• Maintain regular updates of the Company media databases, assist with planning and organizing of interviews, press conferences, corporate events, and other media-oriented activities.
• Identify opportunities for maximizing brand visibility and positive coverage, e.g., through press trips, media interviews, and events.

Mandatory Qualifications & Experience
• University degree in journalism, communications, or a similar discipline.
• 4 years’ experience in similar work environments.

• Excellent writing and speaking skills, fluency in English.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to initiate research, innovate, and keep updated on current communications technologies, techniques, and trends.
• Team player, target-oriented, flexible, self-driven, and good cultural understanding with the ability to work under minimum supervision.
