Job Description
The Head of Credit Policy & Portfolio Management is part of retail credit risk management complement and will be responsible for overall management of credit policy and credit enablement/ support functions related to retail and SME Micro portfolios. This is a managerial role therefore, the role holder will be responsible for training, coaching and capacity building of other colleagues in the team and the wider risk, credit operations and collections teams and align them to the retail credit policies and standards. The role holder will work closely with business stakeholders in sales, products, credit operations, collections & recoveries, and IT to deliver the objectives of business related to retail/ consumer lending portfolio across retail credit life cycle in aggregate which comprises of the following;
• Product Planning
• Credit Initiation
• Account Maintenance
• Fraud Management
• Collections & Recoveries
• Responsible for developing and adhering to business mandate and scale triggers for all products.
• Setting of product risk appetite and strategies
• Policy formulation / circulars – owner of the portfolio Risk policies and Procedures and Manuals
• Provide input into developing and review of models related to Retail Portfolio.
• Analysis of management Information with appropriate recommendations to the Head of Retail Credit Risk and Credit Director.
• Liaison with product/business managers and owners
• Initiate, agree, and monitor Collection and Recoveries strategies
• Accountability for all Credit scorecard design, implementation, monitoring and performance reviews (where applicable.
Education
• Bachelor`s Degrees and Advanced Diplomas: Business, Commerce and Management Studies (Required)
