JOB DETAILS:
The U.S. Mission in Uganda is seeking eligible and qualified Eligible Family Member (EFM) applicants for the position of Consular Associate. Below is a summary of the job details:
Position Overview:
• Work Schedule: Part-time (20 hours per week)
• Start Date: Must begin within 4 weeks of receiving authorization or clearances.
• Supervisory Role: No.
Duties:
The role involves providing consular services under the supervision of the Consular Officer, which includes:
• Supporting the American Citizen Services (ACS) Unit, Nonimmigrant Visa (NIV) Unit, Immigrant Visa Unit, and Fraud Prevention Unit (FPU).
• Assisting with visa processing and investigations.
• Handling correspondence with various stakeholders (public, attorneys, governments, Congress, etc.).
• Securing and maintaining a Secret-level security clearance.
Qualifications:
• Education: High school diploma required.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years in office administration.
• Language: Fluent in English (Level IV proficiency; may be tested).
• Skills:
o Data input with accuracy.
o Proficiency in MS Office and database management.
o Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
o Ability to handle sensitive situations with tact and apply complex regulations.
o Must qualify for a DOS Secret Security clearance.
Evaluation and Certifications:
• Medical and security certifications required for selected candidates.
