A. Key Responsibilities
The Information Technology Specialist will be responsible for:
• Ensure the reliability and security of the I.T infrastructure.
• Database administration and maintenance.
• Troubleshooting and technical support.
• System monitoring and performance optimization.
• Capacity building and documentation.
B. Specific Tasks
The Information Technology Specialist performs the following tasks:
• Troubleshoot and diagnose network failures of AMP within and outside the Ministry network infrastructure.
• Installation and configuration of both the Aid Management Platform application and database server for reliability and availability.
• Always investigate and maintain the availability of the server.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose the Aid Management Platform database in instances where it’s not accessible to the users.
• Configure and manage database backup for recovery infrastructure, archive, and storage strategy in case it’s not accessible.
• Always ensure database security, integrity, and system availability.
• Monitor and maintain the health of the database.
• Manage database access to all authenticated users.
• Design maintenance procedures and put them into operation.
• Create new user accounts, profiles, and deal with password changes.
• Enter data into the predetermined database and organize it in a format that enables selection decisions to be made based on application information.
Other Duties/Additional Tasks
• Perform other duties and tasks at the request of management.
C. Required Qualifications, Competences, and Experience
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or Computer Science.
Professional Experience:
• 5 years’ experience in end-user support, troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
• Knowledge in database management, system administration, hardware and software maintenance, cloud computing systems, and networking.
Other Knowledge, Additional Competences:
• Excellent English language skills (spoken and written).
• Good working knowledge of ICT and computer applications (e.g., MS Office, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Teams, MS Outlook, etc.).
• Good teamwork and ability to operate in a diverse and multicultural work environment.
• Willingness to learn and desire to exceed expectations.
• Good analytical, writing, and communication skills.
