JOB DETAILS:
Job Overview
The Marketing & Revenue Generation Specialist will lead efforts to secure funding for the Green Leaf Platforms in Uganda, develop partnerships, and ensure program sustainability beyond donor funding. The position is contingent upon funding and grant approval.
Key Areas of Responsibility
1. Revenue Generation and Partnership Development
o Develop and implement marketing plans to secure funding from public and private sector organizations.
o Cultivate relationships with sponsors and secure long-term funding agreements.
o Create compelling sponsorship packages to align with sponsor interests.
o Negotiate agreements to ensure sustainability.
2. Marketing and Communications
o Design marketing strategies to promote Green Leaf radio programs.
o Collaborate with the communications team to create promotional materials.
o Build relationships with media partners and stakeholders to attract sponsors.
3. Stewardship and Reporting
o Work with teams to gather data and develop reports for funders.
o Maintain strong relationships with sponsors and encourage renewals.
o Monitor and adjust revenue generation strategies to achieve financial goals.
4. Program Sustainability and Innovation
o Explore diverse funding sources, including social enterprises and CSR initiatives.
o Align program offerings with funder interests and development challenges.
o Expand program reach through partnerships and innovation.
5. Capacity Development
o Develop marketing resources and events for Green Leaf radio platforms.
o Train radio station sales teams and district hubs in marketing skills.
Qualifications and Competencies
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Development, Communications, or related fields. A master’s degree is an asset.
• Experience:
o At least 5 years of experience in marketing, fundraising, or revenue generation, preferably in agriculture, development, or media sectors.
o Proven track record of securing sponsorships from diverse sectors.
o Experience with communication for development (C4D) initiatives is highly desirable.
• Skills:
o Strong networking, negotiation, and presentation skills.
o Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
o Familiarity with CSR trends and non-profit financing.
