JOB DETAILS:
B1. Overall Purpose of the Job
The Workshop Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily operations within a workshop specializing in truck maintenance and repair. The role ensures efficient workflow, quality control, and adherence to safety standards, while also fostering team productivity and maintaining inventory management.
B2. Key Roles & Responsibilities
1. Team Leadership:
o Supervise and mentor a team of mechanics and technicians to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
o Delegate tasks effectively based on team members' skills and workload to optimize efficiency.
2. Workflow Management:
o Plan and organize daily workshop activities to ensure timely completion of maintenance and repair tasks.
o Coordinate with other departments to manage workflow and optimize resource allocation.
3. Quality Control:
o Monitor repair and maintenance work for quality and accuracy to ensure compliance with industry standards and company policies.
o Conduct regular inspections and assessments to maintain high service standards.
4. Inventory Management:
o Oversee parts inventory to ensure the availability of necessary components while managing costs.
o Liaise with suppliers for the timely procurement of parts and equipment.
5. Safety Compliance:
o Ensure all workshop activities align with safety regulations and best practices.
o Conduct regular safety training sessions and inspections to promote a culture of safety among the team.
6. Performance Monitoring:
o Evaluate technicians' performance through regular assessments and provide constructive feedback to encourage professional growth.
o Maintain accurate records of repairs, services, and inventory to support operational efficiency.
C. Knowledge, Qualifications, and Experience
C1. Education:
• Diploma in Automotive or Mechanical Engineering.
C2. Experience, Skills, and Competencies:
• Experience:
o Minimum of five years in a workshop environment, with at least two years in a supervisory role.
• Skills and Competencies:
o Strong leadership and organizational abilities.
o Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
o Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
