REACH for Uganda is a non-profit that partners with quality education in Uganda and has 11 Uganda partner schools, including 2 REACH schools. AAH Uganda has a 27-year history of promoting and supporting quality education, healthcare, and community development in Uganda. The Hawthorne-Scribner High School Bududa serves an underprivileged community in Bududa. It is the only partner school in the region. Students at the High School transfer to our partner schools in the village after completing Primary 7. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified and passionate educator to join our team as Headteacher at the High School to take up the position on February 1, 2024.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide strategic leadership to establish and promote positive attitudes towards operations and the teaching and learning culture.
• Monitor and evaluate the school and align school programs and activities to the vision and mission of the community.
• Drive contributions in times of crisis and show strong leadership.
• Be the chief administrator of the school, and manage staff, pupils, and property effectively.
• Foster a child-inclusive and positive school environment that promotes respect, diversity, and safety.
• Lead, inspire, and support a team of talented educators, promoting professional development and collaboration.
• Oversee the effective management of the school finances, resources, and facilities.
• Build strong relationships with parents, governors, and the wider school community.
We are looking for a competent leader with the following qualities and qualifications:
• A strong academic background.
• Passionate and talented in improving educational outcomes for children.
• A well-rounded understanding of teaching, organizational management, and administration.
• At least a Bachelor's Degree in Education from a recognized university.
• A minimum of 5 years of working experience in a similar role.
• Preferably, a Master's Degree in an education field or management.
