Summary:
Uganda’s leading digital job-matching platform and career services company, BrighterMonday Uganda, has designed a youth skilling and employment impact project to improve employability of Ugandan youth and transition them into dignified employment. To support this goal, we seek a Senior Youth Engagement and Learning Associate to manage learning and development aspects of the project, ensuring strategy development and implementation to meet project objectives on youth skilling in soft skills and employability, with special focus on young women, refugees and persons with disabilities. The Associate will lead and optimize training and instructional content initiatives while coordinating training workplan delivery ensuring execution to achieve all learning and development milestones.

Brief Job Summary:
Your mission is to ensure the impact project goals for youth skilling and transition to employment are achieved through effective, efficient and inclusive training delivery within stipulated time frames.
Key Duties & Job Responsibilities
Learning Strategy Development:
- Collaborate with project stakeholders and department leaders to identify learning needs specific to the project.
- Design and implement learning strategies that align with project goals and enhance team performance throughout the project lifecycle.
Training Needs Analysis and Delivery:
- Conduct thorough assessments to determine the skills gaps.
- Program implementation, Learning and Development, ideation and implementation of best in class pedagogical approaches to soft skills training across learner segments
- Facilitation of trainings and management of partners
- Manage the operation of mobilization partners, review and approve training as well as ensure successful training and reporting.
- Plan and coordinate ‘Train the Trainer’ sessions, instructional design and LMS coordination. To reach all learner segments.
- Provide low-tech training options for our Blue-collar and informal sectors
- Recruit, train and manage Facilitators, Training and Data-Entry Volunteers in focus districts
- Ensure a proper monitoring and evaluation system that measures training programmes
- Provide technical inputs to/ during planning, organising and coordination of project monitoring processes, assessments, surveys, research and evaluations
- Engage public and private stakeholders to build a healthy relationship
- Support CV writing projects and Career counselling support services to young people
- Work closely with the L&D Associates and support team to ensure smooth training operations online and offline.

- Support the team in ensuring that the overall goal and specific objectives of the youth engagement component of the program are achieved
- Develop and submit activity plans in time for review and prior to implementation.
- Support end- to-end youth engagement event management
Content Development & Delivery:
- Lead the creation and delivery of training programs, including workshops, e-learning modules, seminars, and hands-on sessions.
- Ensure all learning materials are aligned with project objectives and industry best practices.
Project-Specific Onboarding & Induction:
- Develop and deliver onboarding sessions for new project team members, ensuring they understand project-specific tools, methodologies, and expectations.
Performance Evaluation & Feedback:
- Design and implement systems to assess the effectiveness of training programs, including post-training evaluations, feedback mechanisms, and performance tracking.
- Ensure that training outcomes are met and that the learning interventions contribute to project success.
Collaboration with Stakeholders:
- Maintain strong communication with the project team to ensure alignment between training objectives and project deliverables.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with partner organizations to train youth and report accurate data
Continuous Improvement & Best Practices:
- Regularly evaluate and refine learning programs based on feedback and evolving project needs.
- Stay up to date on the latest trends and methodologies in L&D to ensure training solutions are cutting-edge and relevant.
Stakeholder Reporting:
- Provide regular updates to senior leadership on the progress and impact of L&D initiatives.
- Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) related to training and development, such as engagement, completion rates, and skill improvements.

Person Specifications:
Qualifications:
- B.A or B.Sc in Human Resource Development, Education, Learning or Instructional Design, Project management, Social Sciences or any related fields. M.Sc/MBA desired
- Post-graduate professional certifications highly considered
Experience:
- Minimum of 4 -6 years relevant work experience coordinating training with at least 2years in impact-focused projects
- Proven experience in managing large-scale training projects, preferably in the education, skills development, or nonprofit sector.
- Experience working in youth training initiatives or community development projects is a plus, especially when targeting underserved populations such as women, persons with disabilities, or refugees.
- Familiarity with curriculum development and working with multiple stakeholders, such as technical institutions, community hubs, and government agencies, to align learning strategies and objectives.
Skills required to perform the Job:
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple activities and timelines simultaneously.
- Knowledge of inclusive training practices to ensure accessibility and engagement of special needs groups.
- Ability to coordinate and lead teams supporting planning and delivery of training while ensuring adherence to program quality and standards
- Adaptive to change with the ability to use an agile approach to execute in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with online learning platforms, remote training tools, and digital collaboration tools like Zoom, Google Meet, or Microsoft Teams.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to distill complex ideas to stakeholders across multiple levels
- Strong stakeholder management skills at all levels of the organization.
