Organization Overview
WildLandscapes International is a nonprofit focused on conserving large and connected landscapes that are critical for global wildlife and local communities. The organization operates on scientific principles and prioritizes collaboration with diverse stakeholders to address conservation challenges.
Purpose of the Position
The Driver will provide transportation services, ensuring the safe movement of personnel, equipment, and materials, while maintaining project vehicles for optimal performance.
Key Responsibilities
1. Driving and Transportation:
o Safe transport of staff and materials.
o Compliance with road safety regulations.
2. Vehicle Maintenance:
o Regular inspections and maintenance.
o Reporting repairs and maintaining accurate logs.
3. Field Support:
o Assisting in loading/unloading and logistical operations.
4. Security and Compliance:
o Ensuring the safety of passengers and cargo.
Skills and Qualifications
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of driving in remote or challenging environments, preferably in East Africa.
• Licensing: Valid, clean driving license for relevant vehicle classes in Uganda.
• Advantage: Experience with conservation or development organizations.
• Skills: Vehicle maintenance, road safety knowledge, defensive driving, time management, and communication in English (local language skills are a plus).
• Attributes: Professionalism, reliability, adaptability, and commitment to conservation values.
• Citizenship: Preference for East African citizens.
