About ACODEV:
Action for Community Development (ACODEV) is a non-governmental organization (NGO) founded in 2003 to address service delivery gaps during the political insurgency in the Rwenzori region of Western Uganda. Over the years, ACODEV has expanded its programs to benefit children and youth across more than 28 districts in Western, Central, and Northern Uganda. It implements innovative development and humanitarian programs in Uganda and East and Southern Africa.

Job Summary:
The Project Driver will work under the direct supervision of the Administrative Officer and provide transportation support to the West Nile Program, field offices, and visitors of ACODEV.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Inspect and record the condition of the vehicle daily; prepare weekly maintenance checklists.
2. Ensure timely servicing and maintenance of ACODEV vehicles, including completing service request forms and maintaining service records.
3. Report mechanical problems to the head driver.
4. Conduct daily assessments of road conditions and security situations.
5. Safely transport ACODEV program staff to field sites across the district.
6. Deliver mail and messages as directed.
7. Maintain the cleanliness of the vehicle's interior and exterior.
8. Reconcile vehicle usage within the required timeframes.

 

 

9. Adhere to ACODEV vehicle policies and procedures, including proper use of the logbook and prohibition of drinking and driving.
10. Perform any additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Education: Minimum O-Level Certificate; A-Level Certificate is an added advantage.
2. Driving License: Valid license with classes A, B, C, and D.

 

 

3. Experience: Minimum of two years of driving experience and experience with manual vehicles.
4. Language Skills: Fluency in English and Madi languages; must be a resident of Moyo.

2. Presentable with excellent interpersonal skills.
3. High moral integrity and initiative.
4. Good team player, ready to work long hours.
