Responsibilities
Job Purpose:
This position is responsible for execution of efficient operational performance of the Business development in consistency with the company’s underwriting policies and practices.
Roles & Responsibilities:
• Establishing business relationship with new broking firms newly licensed in Uganda and those who are currently not in business relationship with the company
• Development of strategical relationship like direct business, government business, micro finance tie up and any new avenues.
• Liaising with the specific existing broker relationship with a view to increase the company’s share of their business.
• Responsible for overall profitable growth from the segments looking at.
• Co-ordinating with the Brokers and the operational departments within the company
• Management of new businesses and close monitory of renewals
• Ensuring timely delivery of the premium’s quotations and disposal of claims
• Completion of set business targets in respect of each assigned broker relationship
• Ensure that accurate and competitive quotations are prepared and delivered promptly to Brokers
• Assist in other duties as needed and directed.
Liaison with other departments
• Liaising with the claims department to ensure that the claims are paid on time and any outstanding premiums are collected before any payment is made
• Liaising with underwriting department to ensure policies with outstanding premiums are cancelled as per credit policy and no renewals are done for policies with outstanding premiums
• Come for other responsibilities as when called upon
Management Information
• Prepare weekly and monthly reports on production
Qualifications
• Bachelor degree in related business field or its equivalent;
• Professional qualifications i.e. CII Credits or its equivalent
Details of experience
• Minimum 5 years’ experience and relevance in the insurance industry
