Monitor Publications Limited, a Nation Media Group Company is Uganda's most influential media house, operating The Daily Monitor, Saturday Monitor and Sunday Monitor newspapers, 93.3KFM, 90.4 Dembe FM, Nation Couriers and the Monitor Business Directory. We are looking for a qualified and experienced results oriented professional to fill the following vacancy.
JOB PURPOSE:
The Events Coordinator drives the planning, execution, and evaluation of all Nation Media Group events to generate revenue and memorable experiences. This role involves, detailed coordination, and collaboration across teams and departments, ensuring the seamless delivery of each event while fostering stakeholder relationships and brand visibility.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Coordinate high-impact, revenue-driven events and activations designed to captivate audiences and attract sponsors, advertisers, and partners.
• Execute strategic event plans with clear objectives, target audience insights, help set budget estimates, and logistical considerations to ensure smooth execution and impactful outcomes.
• Coordinate the development and implementation of a yearly calendar for events, partnerships, activations, and promotions that aligns with NMG's events and brand strategy and goals. Coordinate the planning and execution of events that drive revenue, enhance brand equity, and engage audiences, ensuring that each initiative aligns with business priorities and offers high-value sponsorship opportunities.
• Ensure all events, from large-scale concerts to intimate corporate gatherings, are strategically aligned with business. goals, appealing to valuable sponsors and creating a positive experience for attendees.
• Maximize event reach by integrating digital elements, including social media, website content, and digital broadcast, to provide cohesive messaging and meet the organization's digital objectives.
• Collaborate closely with internal teams to ensure a cohesive, cross-platform event experience that amplifies visibility and audience engagement across NMG's various media channels. Regularly analyze engagement metrics, market trends, and audience insights to refine event and activation strategies, ensuring they resonate with both stakeholders and target audiences
• Maintain a comprehensive database of clients, sponsors, and audience feedback, leveraging these insights to optimize strategies and address client and audience needs proactively.
• Work with Brand Managers, Commercial Managers, Production Managers, and other departments to develop profitable products and activations that attract advertisers, drive revenue, and differentiate NMG in the market.
• Liaise with suppliers, partners, and venues to ensure all elements of events are seamlessly organized, meeting high standards for both in-person and digital components.
• Conduct regular reviews of event and activation performance, ensure client satisfaction, and adjust strategies based on insights to drive measurable impact on brand equity and revenue growth.
• Lead the Activations team by setting clear goals, delegating tasks, and ensuring accountability to deliver high-quality results. Promote a collaborative environment that encourages creativity and innovation while meeting deadlines and maintaining high standards.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
• Academic: Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communication or Business related field from an accredited University.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years in event planning, executing, and evaluating revenue-driven promotions.

• Proven project management skills, with experience in multi-tasking and prioritizing under deadlines.
• Strong negotiation, vendor management, and financial tracking abilities.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on client service and relationship building.
• Ability to adapt to changing demands, problem-solve creatively, and maintain composure under pressure.
• Familiarity with digital marketing and social media for event promotion is advantageous.
• Knowledge of the media industry and experience in cross-platform event promotions is a plus.
