The Workshop Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily operations in the vehicle Spraying and Panel beating department, ensuring that all body work repair is completed efficiently, safely, and to high-quality standards. This role involves managing a team of spraying and panel beating technicians, coordinating workflow, and maintaining a positive work environment.
ABOUT WAMUCO MOTORS
Wamuco Motors is a private company established in 1995, specializing in the provision of vehicle repair services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor a team of automotive technicians and fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Customer Service Excellence: Cultivate a customer-centric culture within the workshop, ensuring that all team members prioritize customer satisfaction in every interaction.
- Workflow Management: Work in collaboration with the foremen to plan and organize daily workshop activities, assigning tasks to technicians and workshop staff based on skill levels and workload to optimize efficiency.
- Quality Control: Monitor repair work for quality and accuracy, ensuring compliance with customer standards and company policies.
- Clerical Oversight: Work in collaboration with clerks and front desk supervisor in ensuring timely and accurate completion of work.
- Management of Client tools: Oversee the safe handling of clients’ tools and equipment left in vehicles during repair. Ensure all tools are returned in the same condition and accounted for upon completion.
- Inventory Management: Oversee parts inventory being requested from stores ensuring availability of necessary components while managing costs and minimizing waste.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure all workshop activities adhere to safety regulations and practices, conducting regular safety training and inspections.
- Performance Monitoring: Evaluate the performance of technicians through regular assessments, providing constructive feedback to support professional development.
- Reporting: Maintain accurate records of repairs, services, and inventory, preparing reports as required for management.
- Collaboration: Work closely with management to identify areas for improvement, implement new processes, and drive overall workshop efficiency.
- Cleaning and Maintenance: Ensure the workshop is kept clean, organised and safe at all times. Oversee regular cleaning schedules for work areas, tools and equipment. Promote a culture of cleanliness and safety among the team.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in automotive technology preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years in automotive repair, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role, including experience managing administrative staff.
Skills:
- Strong leadership and communication abilities.
- In-depth knowledge of automotive repair techniques and industry trends.
- Proficient in diagnostic tools and software.
- Exceptional customer service skills with a focus on enhancing the customer experience.
- Strong organizational skills with a focus on efficiency and detail.
Working Conditions:
