Job Overview
Alipata Limited is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accountant to manage the company’s finances, human resources, logistics, and financial lobbying activities. This role also involves fundraising efforts to support Alipata’s growth and operational objectives. The ideal candidate will ensure smooth financial operations, effective HR management, and efficient logistics, while also working on strategies to secure external funding. This position is open to female candidates only.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management:
- Recordkeeping and Financial Reporting: Maintain accurate financial records, track daily transactions, and prepare financial statements (monthly, quarterly, annual) in line with regulatory requirements.
- Budgeting & Cash Flow Management: Develop and monitor the company’s budget, ensuring alignment with business goals. Oversee cash flow management, ensuring sufficient liquidity to meet operational needs.
- Taxation and Compliance: Ensure compliance with local tax regulations, handle tax filings, and ensure timely payments. Stay updated on any regulatory changes that may affect financial reporting or tax obligations.
- Expense Monitoring & Cost Control: Review all company expenditures and implement cost-saving measures without compromising service quality or efficiency.
Human Resources (HR) Management:
- Recruitment and Onboarding: Oversee the recruitment process, from posting job openings to interviewing and onboarding new employees. Ensure that new hires are well-integrated into the company.
- Payroll and Employee Benefits: Manage the company’s payroll system to ensure accurate and timely salary payments. Administer employee benefits, including leaves, bonuses, and health benefits.
- Performance Management & Employee Relations: Implement performance management processes, coordinate performance reviews, and handle any employee grievances. Promote a positive working environment through conflict resolution and team-building activities.
- HR Compliance: Ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations, maintaining accurate employee records and managing contracts.
Logistics Management:
- Inventory Management: Track and maintain inventory levels, manage stock control, and ensure that necessary products and supplies are readily available.
- Delivery Coordination: Work with logistics partners to ensure timely delivery of products, optimizing routes to minimize delivery time and transportation costs.
- Supplier Relations: Manage relationships with suppliers to ensure the timely procurement of goods and services. Negotiate terms to secure the best pricing and delivery schedules.
- Documentation & Compliance: Ensure all logistics and inventory transactions are properly documented and that processes comply with any regulatory requirements.
Financial Lobbying and Fundraising:
- Lobbying for Financial Support: Develop and maintain relationships with financial institutions, investors, and government bodies to secure financial backing for company operations. Present financial forecasts, business plans, and funding proposals to potential investors or financial stakeholders.
- Fundraising Strategy: Identify and pursue fundraising opportunities such as grants, loans, or venture capital. Create fundraising campaigns that align with Alipata’s goals, ensuring compliance with donor and investor requirements.
- Grant Applications & Proposals: Prepare grant applications and business proposals to secure external funding. Research available grants or funds, ensuring that Alipata remains financially competitive and capitalized.
- Stakeholder Communication: Maintain clear communication with stakeholders regarding the company's financial needs, progress, and how funds will be used to ensure transparency and trust.
Academic Background
- Bachelor’s Degree: In Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Professional Certifications (preferred): ACCA, CPA, or any relevant financial certification.
Skills & Competencies
- Accounting Expertise: Strong knowledge of financial processes, bookkeeping, tax compliance, and financial reporting.
- HR Management: Familiarity with HR practices, employee management, payroll processing, and labor laws.
- Logistics Coordination: Basic understanding of supply chain management, inventory tracking, and logistics coordination.
- Fundraising & Financial Lobbying: Ability to lobby for financial support and secure external funding through grants, loans, or investments.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to manage multiple responsibilities with precision and accuracy.
- Tech-Savvy: Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., QuickBooks, Tally), and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
- Organizational Skills: Strong ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage resources efficiently.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact with colleagues, vendors, and partners effectively.
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or a similar role, with exposure to HR, logistics functions, and fundraising being a plus.
Salary: 350,000 UGX
