People And Culture Officer – Temporary
The People and Culture Officer will report to the People & Culture Partner -Business Support and will be based at Head office. The People & Culture Officer position is a temporary position for an initial period of six months. He/ she will be responsible for delivering the Human Resource agenda by ensuring day to day support to the head office and branch managers to support in HR related aspects.

Specific responsibilities include: -
• Provide HR technical guidance to the Pride’s Managers regarding both strategic and operational aspects of managing their respective team.
• Support the implementation of the performance management process by guiding on effective target setting and performance reviews.

• Review staff productivity and engage the respective Line Managers to execute initiatives that will align staff to expected performance standards.
• Responsible for employee relations and driving staff engagement for the Branches in line with the broad engagement agenda of the Pride.

• Provide day - to - day support to Head office and Branches on human capital related requirements such as leave administration to ensure that they are enabled to deliver on their mandates.

• Prepare administrative notifications/letters for internal transfers, promotions, salary adjustments, salary reviews, etc.

• Work with the Manager talent and learning to identify and execute training needs for the assigned departments.
• Participate in recruitment and provide support to the induction process and other training programs in the organization and introduce the new recruits to the various departments for familiarization.
• Register, file and safe keep all documents and correspondence addressed to or from the people and culture department.
• Assist in the leave administration process of Pride by processing staff leave requests, update inventory of all staff leave application forms and ensure clearances and approvals.

Minimum academic qualifications, Experience & competences
• Bachelor of Human Resources Management, Organisational Psychology, social sciences or any related Discipline
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience in HR practice.
• Good Understanding of Ugandan labour laws and HR best practices.
• Ability to demonstrate lateral understanding of all facets of the Business.
• He/she should not be more than 35 years of age.
