Overview:
The SUPPORT project, funded by EDCTP3, offers a unique opportunity for a post-doctoral fellowship aimed at building the next generation of African researchers in pediatric clinical research. This multidisciplinary program will focus on reducing HIV pediatric mortality through innovative research and collaboration across African and European institutions.
The fellowship provides a comprehensive training network for post-doctoral researchers who are interested in gaining leadership experience in scientific research coordination, protocol development, and high-quality clinical study procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
The selected candidate will:
• Coordinate the clinical research within the SUPPORT project.
• Develop and amend research protocols and tools.
• Ensure the quality of study procedures and deliverables.
• Prepare for a leadership role as a principal investigator in future research projects.

What We Offer:
• A 24-month full-time post-doctoral contract at Makerere University.
• A gross salary of €3,413.76 per month, adjusted for family status and mobility (without family allowance).

• Integration into a network of 14 European and African institutions specializing in pediatrics.
• A 3-month secondment at Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Spain.

• Extensive multidisciplinary training in research and transferable skills.
• Access to state-of-the-art infrastructure and resources.

Eligibility Requirements:
• A PhD in a relevant field (preferably in health-related research) and registration as a medical doctor.
• Previous experience in pediatric clinical research, research coordination, and randomized clinical trials.
• Proficiency in English (oral and written).
• Willingness to work in Sub-Saharan Africa for at least two years after the post-doctoral fellowship.
• Citizenship or residency in a Sub-Saharan African country.
