Job Purpose
Drive the growth of Corporate business by recruiting new customers, retaining existing relationships, and continuously reviewing client wallets to optimise the Bank’s revenue through cross-selling appropriate product bundles.
Responsibilities /Key Deliverables
- Aggressively recruit new-to-bank Corporate Relationships while effectively managing existing ones to support the segment in achieving growth and profitability targets.
- Take a consultative approach to understanding clients’ objectives, effectively identify their financial needs, implement appropriate financial solutions, and undertake ongoing reviews and assessments to ensure exceptional customer relationships.
- Prepare credit applications and participate in the underwriting in preparation for the Head office credit committee approvals.
- Ensure that all loans are documented completely and that any documentation or loan policy exceptions are addressed and resolved.
- Monitor the exposures of the corporate portfolio to ensure that actual performance is consistent with approved limits and loan covenants as informed by the credit approval.
- Manage corporate customer relationships through regular contacts and visits by ensuring the effective call program is maintained on all existing and prospect customers.
- Spot early warning signals so as to maintain a high-quality portfolio within the agreed-upon NPL ratio.
- Monitor and analyses the performance of client accounts, tracking key metrics such as revenue, deposit, profitability, and client satisfaction.
- Expand the corporate client portfolio by cross-selling additional banking products and services, including trade finance, Insurance, Forex, digital suite, and Islamic banking offerings.
- Ensure that all client interactions and transactions comply with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and industry standards.
- Cultivate good rapport with corporate clients to ensure that the bank becomes the choice for their Investment and banking.
- Drive the Bank’s digital agenda among the branch corporate clients.

Person Specification
Education & Training
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Commerce, Business Administration, Economics, Statistics, Management, or any relevant field.
- Possession of a certified banking qualification or master's degree in a relevant field would be an added advantage.
Skills & Experience
- 5 years of banking experience with 3 years of managing corporate relationships
- Proven sales experience in a client relationship role in corporate banking.
- Experience in utilising computer technology.
- Relevant knowledge of credit process and documentation.
- Understanding of Bank products and services.
- Relevant knowledge of the banking sector in Uganda
- Experience in dealing with difficult problems involving multiple facets.
