Background Information
Children’s Rights and Violence Prevention Fund (CRVPF) is an African child rights and social justice intermediary organization. CRVPF partners with community organizations operating in Uganda, Tanzania, Kenya, and Ethiopia to prevent violence including sexual violence against children and young people. We build children and young people’s power and agency to make the right choices and decisions
and facilitate access to safe and dignified employment opportunities. CRVPF works with community organizations as an effective avenue for reaching vulnerable children, young people, families, and communities because these organizations have closer proximity, adaptability, trust with communities, efficiency, and can contextualize interventions. The community organizations and their leaders are the basis for building community movements that advocate for children and young people's issues.

CRVPF seeks to employ a Regional Program Director to lead the grant-making and capacity-strengthening support to Community Organizations and Local NGOs.
The regional program director reports to the CRVPF Executive Director and works in close partnership with the program team.

Responsibilities
• Work with CRVPF senior management team, implement the existing strategic vision and program priorities; revisit the vision and priorities as needed to reflect changing regional and global realities.
• Lead and manage the CRVPF programs to ensure that partners are supported strategically, programmatically, financially, and diplomatically, in the region.

• Supervise country program staff as needed, advise, and provide support to resolve issues in the field.
• Develop a comprehensive strategy for funding work in the region; aggressively pursue new funding opportunities while maintaining relationships with current donors.
• Assist in creating materials to support fundraising efforts.
• Serve as the voice of vulnerable children and young people. Build bridges to coalitions and collaborative efforts with staff and other institutions in the region.

Qualifications:
• A master's degree in business management, project management, or any related field.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience that includes knowledge of the work in the region and experience in children’s and young people’s work.
• The ability to communicate ideas and information effectively to community organizations, donors, and collaborative organizations in the region.
• Proven leadership, strategic, analytic, and management abilities; a proven ability to work successfully in complex political environments and collaboratively as part of a dynamic team.
• Proven success in the past in raising funds from doors and especially from different public and private Foundations.
• Skilled at creating, analysing and managing budgets Goal-driven, organized, and efficient in his/her work. Strong presentation and public speaking skills.

Personal Qualities:
• The successful candidate will bring a sense of passion for the region and its politics, a strong social justice orientation, and a clear understanding of children’s and young people’s rights, as well as gender equity.
• He or she will have good judgment confidence, tenacity, energy, patience, and drive to work with others in this multilayered regional organization to advance the cause of children and young people.
• Thorough understanding of project/program management techniques and methods.
• Excellent Knowledge of performance evaluation techniques and key metrics.
• Outstanding knowledge of data analysis, reporting, and budgeting.
• Working knowledge of MS Office and program management software (e.g., Basecamp, MS Project, etc.)
• The duration of this position, as with all positions at the CRVPF, is contingent upon continued grant funding. The selected professional will sign an annual contract every year.
