Job Purpose
The Internal Control Accountant will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of financial data, implementing and monitoring internal control procedures, and supporting the company's financial stability.
Key duties and responsibilities
a) Develop, implement, and maintain internal control policies and procedures to safeguard assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
b) Perform regular assessments and audits of internal control processes to identify weaknesses and recommend improvements.
c) Prepare, review, and analyse financial statements to ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
d) Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
e) Identify financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
f) Ensure adherence to company policies, industry regulations, and best practices.
g) Coordinate and support both external and internal audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
h) Address audit findings promptly and implement corrective measures.
i) Continuously evaluate and enhance financial processes and systems for efficiency and effectiveness.
j) Implement best practices in accounting and internal controls to streamline operations.
k) Oversee accounting for inventory, ensuring accurate tracking and reconciliation of physical inventory with accounting records.
l) Monitor inventory levels and costs, ensuring accurate valuation and reporting.
m) Assist in the development of budgets and financial forecasts.
n) Monitor budget performance, analyse variances, and provide actionable insights.
o) Ensure compliance with all financial and accounting regulations, including GAAP, IFRS, and other relevant standards.
p) Stay informed about changes in financial regulations and standards.
q) Work closely with operational departments to ensure financial processes align with the company's overall business objectives.
r) Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.

External Relationships: Government Agencies, External Auditors, Suppliers, Customers Knowledge,
Experience and qualifications required
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or any other related course from a recognized institution
- Must be a qualified accountant with relevant professional qualifications such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA-U) or ACCA.
- Minimum of 5 years experience

- Possess significant computer knowledge and have an expertise in Ms Excel and other computer related skills like database administration, tally, etc.
- In-depth knowledge about accounting and finance.
- Aware of the data security act to safeguard the financial assets of the company.
- Well informed about changes regarding the financial regulations and legislations.
- Have an eye for analysing the market trends.
- Calm and professional attitude to work under pressure.
- Good understanding of financial management obligations, especially statutory obligations and requirements.
- Analytical thinker with strong investigative and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent report-writing and communication skills.
- Proficiency in financial planning software such as Microsoft Excel and SAP.

- The job holder has no responsibility for equipment, finances or stock however participates in the financial planning of the organization
