At Gpi we are committed to becoming the world’s leading integrated service provider of solar power, which covers: Manufacture and sale of quality solar PV products, integrated solar street lights, underground water survey and drilling (biggest rig in Uganda), solar water pumping solutions, solar smart grid (on-grid/off-grid/hybrid) solutions integrated solar systems for home/business/institution use large solar power plants (distributed and large-scale either on rooftop or ground).

 

Job Summary:   Green Power International Ltd, a leading solar energy company in Uganda, is seeking a dynamic Business Development Manager to drive our business growth initiatives. This role is crucial in expanding our market presence, forging strategic partnerships, and accelerating the adoption of solar energy solutions across Uganda.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Market Expansion: Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the solar energy sector through market research, networking, and relationship building.
  •  Strategic Planning: Develop and execute comprehensive business development strategies aligned with company goals to achieve revenue targets and market penetration.
  • Client Engagement: Cultivate and nurture relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, commercial clients, and local communities.
  • Proposal Development: Prepare compelling proposals and presentations tailored to client needs, showcasing Green Power International Ltd’s solar solutions and value proposition.
  • Negotiation and Contract Closure: Lead negotiations, manage contract discussions, and finalize agreements to secure profitable business deals.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with the sales, marketing, and technical teams to ensure seamless project implementation and customer satisfaction.
  • Market Insights: Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes to proactively identify business opportunities and risks.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field.
  • Proven track record in business development or marketing, preferably within the renewable energy or solar industry.
  • Strong understanding of Uganda’s energy market dynamics, regulatory environment, and customer needs.
  • Excellent  communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Strategic thinker with a results-driven approach and the ability to work independently.
