The site foreman prepares a work schedule and supervises both pipeline and the construction field. He is also responsible for the safety of his team and carries out frequent safety checks and trains other employees to safely handle equipment and tools. He conducts tests and inspections of products and services to ensure they meet quality standards. It is his responsibility to ensure that tasks are completed to acceptable standards. He must also be able to understand from blueprints how the finished project will look. So, an eye for detail is important. A site foreman finds himself performing other tasks besides his typical duties. He also communicates with others involved in the project to convey necessary information to the Site Manager.
Main duties & Responsibilities
- The Site Foreman will oversee, direct, and guarantee the following deliverables are fulfilled in a safe and efficient manner:
- His overall job duties are to make sure that the quality of his crew's work is above average at all times
- He prepares daily reports based on the progress of the work being completed, as well as obtaining permits to work during the construction period.
- To insure that safety regulations are being followed at all times and that quarrels inside his crew do not occur, a Site foreman is responsible for resolving personal issues that arise among his team while completing a team task job.
- He must also verify that the crew has all the necessary tools to complete the job and that the day-to-day work schedule is being met on time
- Identify workplace safety hazards and take all necessary corrective action to eliminate or minimize them.
- Ensures his team has the right PPEs and makes sure they are used correctly to prevent pre-mature damage
- Provide feedback to the Site Manager
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 10 years of experience in waterlines and/or civil construction works
- Hands-on and out-of-the-box thinker rather than a theoretical encyclopedia
- Superior organizational skills
- Clear and concise communicator
- Problem-solving skills
- Speaks and writes English and Luganda,
